Airbus Helicopters Tour for SGM Students

Last February, third-year students in the Bachelor’s in Materials Science and Engineering program at the Nîmes University Institute of Technology had the opportunity to experience an exceptional immersion at Airbus Helicopters. Welcomed in a VIP lounge, they enjoyed special access to explore a state-of-the-art industrial environment.

The tour began at the materials testing laboratory, where all materials used in the aerospace industry are tested and analyzed. The students had the opportunity to see state-of-the-art electron microscopes, which are used to examine and understand damage to components.

They then toured the assembly lines, including that of the Airbus H225 Super Puma and the state-of-the-art production line for the Airbus H160, which perfectly exemplify the industry’s innovation and expertise.

Beyond the technical aspects, this visit highlighted the many career opportunities available in the fields of materials science and aerospace. It was an inspiring experience that confirms that the BUT SGM program in Nîmes paves the way for careers of the future at the forefront of cutting-edge technology.
