Blood Donation

September is here, the start of the school year is in full swing, and life is getting back to normal!

Between classes, work, and extracurricular activities, your schedule is packed, but how about taking a break to save lives?

If you have blood type A, AB, B, or O—whether Rh-positive or Rh-negative— the French Blood Establishment is counting on you!

✔ To donate blood, you must:

– Be between the ages of 18 and 70

– Weigh at least 50 kg

– Bring a photo ID

Before you go, be sure to take the online test* on the EFS website to find out if there are any contraindications that might apply to you.

From the time you arrive until you leave, plan on spending between 45 minutes and 1 hour (don’t worry—the donation itself takes only about 10 minutes on average). Keep in mind that it’s best to eat beforehand and stay well-hydrated throughout the donation.
