Pre-School Year 2026 Orientation

The Nîmes University Institute of Technology (IUT) is organizing a pre-semester orientation program to help students adjust to their first semester in the Bachelor’s degree program. Space is limited, and registration is required.

PROGRAM

Mathematics (30 hours): Ten half-day sessions of 3 hours each, from August 17, 2026, to August 21, 2026
(Morning: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM – Afternoon: 1:30 PM–4:30 PM)

Review of the basics:
Fractions, powers, square roots, expanding and factoring equations, solving inequalities, isolating a variable from an expression,
Percentages, equations of straight lines, slopes, trigonometry in right triangles, the unit circle, trigonometric functions, the Pythagorean Theorem, Thales’ Theorem,

Probability and Statistics

Physics and Chemistry (30 hours): Ten half-day sessions of 3 hours each, from August 24 to August 28, 2026(Mornings: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM; Afternoons: 1:30 PM–4:30 PM)

Review of the fundamentals:
Mechanics, Electricity, Heat Transfer, Introduction to Strength of Materials.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

Registration for the course requires participation for the full two weeks (attendance is mandatory for the entire duration of the course).
