Who is the student job at the library intended for?
A student employment contract allows you to balance a part-time job with your studies: you work on campus and can manage your time so that your studies come first.
To apply, you must:
- be enrolled at the University of Montpellier for the 2024–2025 academic year
- be available on a full-time basis from April through June 2025 (see offer below)
MISSIONS
- Greet and assist users
- Ensure the lending and return of documents and materials
- Help users access on-site services (public computers, copiers, vending machines, group study rooms, etc.)
- Monitor the reading room
- Storing Documents in the University Library
- Tag the documents before they are made available in the university library
- Help monitor library usage (source surveys, assistance with statistical tracking)
- Participate on an ad hoc basis in documentary projects
What are the hiring criteria?
- Teamwork skills
- Sense of Responsibility
- Good interpersonal skills
- Know how to implement procedures and rules
- Be comfortable using computer and digital tools
- Experience working with the public is a plus
- When applications are comparable, social circumstances are taken into account
Training on the university libraries' tools and services is provided after hiring.

Candidates whose applications are selected will receive an email, starting March 21, inviting them to an interview scheduled between March 24 and March 28.
The Offer:
Hours: 5 hours per week between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., occasionally between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Required availability: early April (date to be confirmed) through June 13, 2025
Pay Structure: Minimum Wage hourly rate, paid based on timesheets
