English as a medium of instruction

With the desire to internationalise our Materials Science and Engineering department, the teachers must take on the challenge of teaching in English. Our lecturers, Laurence Courtheoux and catherinelacour, have successfully completed a training course provided by Oxford EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction), which has helped them:
✅ Develop effective teaching techniques
✅ Build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
✅ Create a more dynamic learning experience

As part of our drive to internationalize our Materials Science and Engineering department, our teachers are facing the challenge of teaching in English. Our teachers, Laurence Courtheoux and Catherine Lacour, have successfully completed a training course run by Oxford EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction), which has enabled them to :

• Develop effective teaching techniques
• Build relationships with students from diverse backgrounds
• Create a more dynamic learning experience."

Other teachers at SGM Nîmes have also undergone this training, and the first courses in English will take place in September 2025.
