Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction Department
The Civil Engineering department is one of five at the Nîmes University Institute of Technology. It trains technicians who, after two years of study, will obtain a Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie "Génie Civil" and work in the construction industry.
This field covers the building and public works sectors, with activities ranging from renovation work to the construction of major structures (buildings, bridges, dams, freeways, etc.).
In the building and civil engineering sector, work is carried out on the very site where it is to be used, and each project is always a new "adventure". They are the fruit of teamwork, in which mankind retains all its importance in the face of organization and machinery. These works are always unique, tangible products, visible to all.
To enable our students to acquire multi-skilled training and enter all construction-related professions (structural work, finishing work, etc.), the teaching staff of the Civil Engineering department at the Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Nîmes provide training that combines both theoretical and technical aspects. Additional practical training is provided during two internships with companies
