Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction Department

The Civil Engineering department is one of five at the Nîmes University Institute of Technology. It trains technicians who, after two years of study, will obtain a Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie "Génie Civil" and work in the construction industry.

This field covers the building and public works sectors, with activities ranging from renovation work to the construction of major structures (buildings, bridges, dams, freeways, etc.).

In the building and civil engineering sector, work is carried out right where it is needed, and each project is always a new "adventure". They are the fruit of teamwork, in which the human element retains all its importance in the face of organization and machinery. These works are always unique products, concrete and visible to all.

To enable our students to acquire multi-skilled training and enter all construction-related professions (structural work, finishing work, etc.), the teaching staff of the Civil Engineering department at the Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Nîmes provide training that combines both theoretical and technical aspects.
