Measures for the 2020 School Year for Students

Back to School 2020

As you may have noticed in the government’s announcements, the outlook for the health situation remains uncertain, even though it currently appears very favorable. Ms. Vidal, Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, has asked us to exercise caution as we begin the new academic year and throughout the first semester. The general rule is to limit the spread of the virus as much as possible and to do everything reasonably possible to ensure that teaching runs smoothly and that preventive measures are followed.

We are doing everything we can to ensure that safety measures are in place in the rooms and hallways, and everyone must bring their own mask toprovide the ultimate line of defense when physical distancing is not possible, as well as their own keyboard and mouse forusing the computers.

While physical distancing and hygiene measures remain in effect, masks must be worn on the IUT campus in the presence of others*, in accordance with the prefectural order dated August 31, 2020**

In consultation with the university’s leadership, we are planning the following teaching arrangements for the first semester of the 2020–2021 academic year:

  • online lectures,
  • In-person and online tutorials (the format will be adapted for each instructional session),
  • In-person hands-on exercises.

We will provide you with more specific information before the start of the school year regarding the layout of the facilities and how classes will be conducted, taking into account developments in the health crisis.
