June 4 and 5, 2018: Innovation Forum – RRI Conference

On June 4 and 5, a conference on innovation will be held at the IUT de Nîmes. The event will focus on new ways of organizing innovation processes.
This topic plays a significant role in our societies, which are constantly striving for improvement.
Innovation is generally understood as the result, the end goal of a creative initiative that ultimately leads to the introduction of a new product (good or service) or a new (production) process. It also sometimes leads to new business models, based on value chain configurations that hold the promise of an attractive offering recognized as such by the market. The central theme of this conference will focus on the organizational characteristics and models underpinning the process of building these innovations.
Conference participants will engage in discussions during various roundtables and workshops on:
– The links between technical and organizational changes to foster innovation
– New internal and external organizational structures for innovation
– New frameworks to support innovation stakeholders
– Methods for evaluating innovation governance and indicators for monitoring these innovations…
This conference is organized by the Innovation Research Network (RRI), which specializes in these topics. The IUT de Nîmes (University of Montpellier) was chosen as the venue for this event, offering an environment conducive to research and learning.
This scientific gathering will also provide an opportunity for participants—coming from all over France and beyond—to discover the city of Nîmes, its historical and cultural heritage, its festivities, and its cuisine. With this in mind, a complementary program (tours of the city and the Gard region, a gala evening) will be offered to participants and their guests to provide a less formal and more convivial setting for interaction.

A look back at the charity gala held on March 22 to benefit Restos du Cœur
On March 22, the IUT hosted a charity gala to benefit the Restos du Cœur, organized by a group of students from the GEA department. In attendance were Mr. Bernard Boulery, departmental director of the Restos du Cœur Association; Mr. Philippe Tamaï, chairman of the IUT board; and Mr. Jean-François Dubé, director of the IUT.
Throughout the evening, musicians and singers took the stage one after another to treat the audience to a lively performance. Singing, piano, clarinet, guitar, bass, and beatboxing set the tone for the event, much to the delight of the audience.
Mr. Boulery warmly thanked the organizers and performers for the “deep emotion” evoked by the event, which raised 1,100 euros—funds that “will help provide families in need with a little bread and warmth and will assist the organization, which faces numerous expenses.”
Congratulations to the students on this wonderful initiative, and thank you to the participants for their generosity and friendliness!
