Social Assistance and Housing

Scholarship Applications

If you are under 28 years of age as of September1 of the academic year—and subject to certain conditions, including income requirements—you may be eligible for a need-based grant.

Applications for financial aid and/or housing are submitted through the DSE (Student Social File): a single online application process via the portal messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr,

To find out if you are eligible, please review the requirements. Don’t forget to renew your application each year if you are already a scholarship recipient.

Other specific assistance

There are other types of financial aid available depending on students’ profiles or projects. Check the list of the various forms of aid you may be eligible for on the Ministry of Higher Education’s website.

Housing

The CROUS offers housing in student housing complexes or dormitories; you must apply for this at the same time as you apply for need-based financial aid.

The student rental deposit guarantee (the CROUS-Lokaviz program) has been replaced by Action Logement’s Visale program.

Visale Program (Student Rental Guarantee)

Action Logement, a leading player in the housing sector, continues to support young people through various public assistance programs. As soon as a lease or roommate agreement is signed, young people in precarious situations can apply for the Avance Loca-Pass, which allows them to immediately pay the security deposit required by the landlord.

A second form of assistance is available: the Mobili-Jeune grant (for students in work-study programs), which reduces rent and helps cover future household expenses (water, electricity, internet, etc.)
