AMUSE: SECNUM Escape Game wins award at the Cybersecurity Meeting in Occitania

The 5th edition of the Rencontres Cybersécurité en Occitanie was held on June 4. At this year's event, Florent Bruguier (Senior Lecturer at the Nîmes IUT / Montpellier Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics and Microelectronics (LIRMM) / University of Montpellier) and Loic Dalmasso (Engineer and doctoral student at LIRMM) presented AMUSE, an escape game dedicated to raising awareness of cybersecurity among students and professionals, developed within the framework of the Digital Security Platform (SECNUM) of the National Coordination Center for Training in Microelectronics and Nanotechnologies (CNFM) in Montpellier. The aim of this innovative educational practice is to successfully open a safe by solving riddles that recall basic cybersecurity concepts such as social engineering. After a day of demonstrations, AMUSE was awarded the jury's "Coup de Coeur" prize. This project is co-financed by the Occitanie region, the FEDER fund, the I-site MUSE and the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR).

These commissions will combine presentations by industrialists on the state of the art of the various themes, with feedback from colleagues.

The colloquium is a privileged venue in which an exhibitors' lounge welcomes our industrial partners and manufacturers of educational equipment. They present their products and technological innovations to a large number of specialized teachers and purchasing managers from all GEII departments in France and overseas. Inauguration of the electric tractor at SITEVI in Montpellier

All green and brand new, the electric tractor designed by the Vignerons Indépendants du Gard was inaugurated on Tuesday November 28 at the SITEVI trade show - Salon International des équipements et savoir-faire pour les productions vigne-vin, olive, fruits-légumes - at the Montpellier exhibition center.

This project came about thanks to an agreement between the Fédération des Vignerons Indépendants du Gard, the Gard département, the Ecole des Mines d'Alès and the Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing department of the IUT de Nîmes. Over the past 3 years, 12 students from the DUT and the Licence professionnelle Gestion et Utilisation des Energies Renouvelables have been working on the battery racks, control box, charger and electric steering.

A fine achievement that also won Nîmes Métropole's first Grand Prix for Innovation!

In the news: IUT students meet Thomas Pesquet!

On November 6 and 7, a number of students and staff from the Nîmes IUT had the chance to meet Thomas Pesquet at a conference he was giving at the European Parliament. Invited by Franck Proust, Member of the European Parliament and first deputy mayor of Nîmes, they had the chance to meet the astronaut, who shared his experience in space and answered questions from impressed and delighted students: an emotional moment for the young people from Nîmes, but also for all those who accompanied them!
