Department of Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computer Science

The GEII department at the IUT de Nîmes is dedicated to training advanced technicians in the field of electrical engineering. The department is staffed by 24 faculty members (50% instructors and 50% faculty researchers), 3 technicians, 1 secretary, and numerous external lecturers. Approximately 200 students are enrolled in the initial program (first and second years), the work-study program, and the professional bachelor’s degree in “Management & Use of Renewable Energy.”

The academic backgrounds of students in the department are diverse; in fact, the GEII department admits students with both general and technological high school diplomas. On a case-by-case basis, students with vocational high school diplomas who have demonstrated excellent academic performance during high school may be admitted to the GEII department. Places are also available for international students, particularly through the Campus France program.
