Cubsat

The GMP department is involved in the scientific and technical project led by the UM to develop a mini-satellite for testing the effects of radiation on data acquisition boards. The GMP department is involved in the design and manufacture of the structure (frame) that will serve as a support for the boards when they are launched into space. The aerospace industry requires that the structure be fully machined from solid material. This project is unique and will enable a number of technological innovations.

Additional information is available on thederobusta website.

The satellite's launch into orbit can be viewed on theESA website.

Shell Eco-marathon

The Shell Eco-Marathon is an optional project run entirely by students. We participate mainly for the human aspect of the experience. Throughout the year, a group works on a prototype designed to travel the greatest distance on 1 liter of gasoline. At the end of the school year, a major race is held between schools from different countries. Despite the competition, there is a spirit of camaraderie. During the week of the competition, we share experiences with the other competitors. This project is separate from the regular curriculum but allows us to use the department’s equipment.
