GMP department projects

The skills acquired by students enable them to produce various prototypes throughout the second year. These are supervised projects covering all the skills acquired during the course. Typically, a needs analysis is carried out, followed by the design and manufacture of prototypes.

Cubsat

The GMP department is involved in the UM's scientific and technical project to create a mini-satellite to test the effect of radiation on acquisition cards. The GMP department is involved in the design and manufacture of the structure (frame) that will support the cards when they are sent into space. The aeronautics and aerospace industries require the structure to be completely machined from solid. This project is unique and will enable a number of technological innovations.

Further information is available on thederobusta website.

Shell Eco Marathon

The eco-marathon shell project is an optional project run solely by students. We participate mainly for the human side of the experience. Throughout the year, a group works on a prototype that has to cover the greatest distance on 1L of petrol. At the end of the school year, a big race is organized between schools from different countries. Despite the competition, the atmosphere is one of mutual support. During this week of competition, we share with the other competitors. This project is independent of the classics, but makes use of the department's equipment.
