Internships
For more information on internship regulations and agreements, see the“Academics – Internships” section
2018 Session:The internship dates are from April 16, 2018, to June 22, 2018
Internships play an important role in the department’s curriculum. Internships provide an opportunity to apply the knowledge gained throughout one’s academic career in a setting outside the university. Students participate in various types of internships:
- Engineering Department: Preliminary design and design of special-purpose machinery.
- Process Engineering Department: Preparation for the Manufacture of Mechanical System Components
The intern is assigned a project or assignment throughout the 10-week internship and must write a structured report on that activity.
The fields of activity are diverse, ranging from small engineering firms to large corporations; a list of companies is available to give you an idea of the internship opportunities available. For example, a number of companies that accept GMP interns are listed in the following table.
| Medical | Transsystem | Nîmes (30) |
| Agricultural | Pellenc | Pertuis (84) |
| Oil tanker | Cameron | Béziers (34) |
| Transportation | PGO | Alès (30) |
| Energy | Areva | Montpellier (34) |
| Civil Engineering | UNAC | Vergèze (30) |
| Food | Nestlé (Perrier) | Vergèze (30) |
This list is not exhaustive and provides an overview of the various fields of work in which future technicians trained through the GMP program will find employment. You can also visit the “Projects” tab to see the work completed by a GMP DUT student during an internship.
