The Nîmes University Institute of Technology (IUT), in partnership with 25 railroad, tramway and metro management companies, will be offering a rail signalling option in September 2024, to be taken in the first year of the engineering engineering engineering diploma (BUT GEII), as part of the automatism course, by apprenticeship only. This course will open up career opportunities throughout France.

Objectives

The B.U.T. Génie Électrique et Informatique Industrielle aims to train professionals working in the fields of the city and industry of the future, smart and connected networks, transport and electromobility, aeronautics, renewable energies, health, audiovisual and space.

The GEII department offers 3 different courses starting in the 2nd year:

  • Industrial Automation and Computing
  • Electricity and Energy Management
  • Electronics and Embedded Systems

  • Maintaining a system in operational condition

Specific skills :

Electronics and Embedded Systems :

  • Implementing a hardware or software system

Electricity and Energy Management :

  • Install all or part of an on-site energy production, conversion and management system

Automatism and Industrial Computing :

  • Integrate a command and control system into an industrial process

Start date: September.
Length: 3 years.
Hours: 2,000 h
Tutored projects: 600h spread over the 2 years.
Internship: 22 weeks minimum over the 3 years
Assessment system: Continuous assessment.
Alternance training: possible from 1st year
Organization of alternance training: 2 or 3 weeks at the IUT / 2 or 3 weeks at the company
