A technological and professional training offer

The IUT de Nîmes, part of the University of Montpellier, offers technological and professional training tailored to local and regional needs. Our ambition is to train students, mainly from general or technological baccalaureate backgrounds, in the scientific and technological skills needed to develop within companies.

Technology is at the very heart of our projects and training programs, so that future professionals can be up and running quickly. The diplomas and support we offer are highly employable. However, the training our students receive increasingly leads them to continue their studies, with a high success rate over the past 10 years.

The national 30-month post-graduation survey shows that 81% of graduates are in employment, 90% have gone on to further study, and 70% have gone on to further study.

In conjunction with the local education authority and companies, our aim is to train more and more middle managers through technological training in the secondary and tertiary sectors.

The 5-hectare campus accommodates 1,200 students in 27,000m2 of premises with 4 large technology test halls.

The Bachelor Universitaire de Technologie (B.U.T.) becomes the new reference diploma for IUTs

We are retaining our current 5 specializations, with differentiated career paths: we train students with a general or technological baccalaureate to the University Bachelors of Technology (B.U.T., bac+3), as well as professional licenses. These courses are available in the form of conventional initial training, sandwich courses through the Centre de Formation par Apprentissage(CFA) or continuing education through the Service de Formation Continue (SFC).

Our institute is also home to a section of Polytech' Montpellier(engineering training, bac+5) which trains engineers in boilermaking and welding systems.

We issue validations of professional qualifications, and validations of prior learning and experience: VAP and VAE.

Nîmes IUT is a member of the federated network of Occitanie-Méditerranée IUTs (IUT OM)and the national network of IUTs.

5 B.U.T. and 5 professional licenses

The IUT de Nîmes offers 5 B.U.T. and 5 Licences Professionnelles in the following fields:
