A range of technology and career-focused training programs
The Nîmes University Institute of Technology (IUT), part of the University of Montpellier, offers technology and career-oriented programs tailored to local and regional needs. Our goal is to equip students—primarily those with general or technology-focused high school diplomas—with the scientific and technological skills necessary for career advancement within companies.
Technology is at the very heart of our programs and training courses, ensuring that future professionals are ready to enter the workforce quickly. The degrees and support we offer lead to very strong employability. However, the training students receive is increasingly leading them to pursue further studies, with a high success rate over the past 10 years.
The national survey conducted 30 months after graduation shows that 81% of graduates are employed, 90% have continued their studies, and 70% are pursuing long-term studies.
In collaboration with the local education authority and businesses, our goal is to train an increasing number of mid-level managers through technical training in the secondary and tertiary sectors.
The 5-hectare campus accommodates 1,200 students in27,000 square meters offacilities, including four large technology testing halls.
Starting in the 2021-2022 school year, our educational offerings will change:
The Bachelor of University Technology (B.U.T.) is becoming the new standard degree at IUTs
We are retaining our five current specializations, with distinct academic tracks: we prepare students with a general or technological high school diploma for Bachelor’s degrees in Technology (B.U.T., three years of higher education) as well as professional bachelor’s degrees. These programs are available as traditional full-time programs, work-study programs through the Apprenticeship Training Center(CFA), or continuing education programs through the Continuing Education Department (SFC).
Our institute also hosts a department of Polytech’ Montpellier(Engineering Program, 5 years of higher education) that trains engineers in fabricated and welded systems.
We issue certifications of prior learning and certifications of prior learning and experience: VAP and VAE
The Nîmes University Institute of Technology (IUT) is a member of the federated network of University Institutes of Technology in Occitanie-Méditerranée (IUT OM)and the national network of University Institutes of Technology.
