Department of Materials Science and Engineering
Materials are a major source of innovation: self-healing cell phone screens, eco-friendly plastic bags, high-performance batteries, 3D printing, ultra-rigid carbon fiber, and more.
With SGM, you’ll be able to keep pace with these developments in plastics, metals, ceramics, glass, composites, and bio-based materials.
To master these products, the industry needs versatile technicians with expertise in materials science, physics, chemistry, and mechanics. The SGM program is grounded in real-world industrial practice to best prepare you for your career, whether you’re coming from an engineering school or have completed a DUT (60% of students go on to pursue a master’s degree).
SGM’s student-centered approach, an attentive teaching staff, and active teaching methods (flipped classroom, industry-based projects, group work, escape games, etc.) foster a positive learning environment and help ensure your academic success.
The positions we are targeting include: Product Developer, Quality Manager, Process Manager, Sales Representative, Expert, etc., in the sports and leisure, energy, packaging, aerospace, boating, and construction sectors, among others.
